About Me

The Mindful Movement Specialist

Growth is awkward. Just look back at your teenage pictures!

As we grow and we get to know more of our "Unkown Self" we often create mental blockages such as doubt, negative self talk, lack of patience, comparing ourselves to others. It's like we talk ourselves out of things when they become challenging. I know this because I have experienced this in everystage of life with tremendous anxiety. Even as an athlete I experienced of these and more but instead of dealing with them, I became angry and extremely hard on myself for years. Then I found the practice of yoga.

I started with just the physical practice and it opened the door to awareness of what is actually happening mentally. Moving mindfully allowed me to give myself grace and acceptance. And my self esteem, relationships, and entire quality of life changed for the better expeditiously.

. As I went through this journey I noticed how many of my peers struggled through the same. This let me know that there was a void that I could fill.

Strength training and the physical practice of yoga changed my body but the meditation and mindfulness changed my life. My mission is to help people gradually move through change and growth mentally and physically in a supportive, accepting, and collaborative environment and community.

We are all having a "Human Experience" so let's create the best version of ourselves together.

I am a Mindful Movement specialist. This is a  professional who works with individuals or groups to help them improve their physical and mental well-being through the practice of mindful movement. Mindful movement refers to exercises that integrate the principles of mindfulness, such as being present, paying attention to the body, and cultivating awareness of the breath, with physical movement.

A Mindful Movement specialist may work in a variety of settings, such as fitness studios, yoga studios, wellness centers, or rehabilitation clinics. They may use a combination of techniques, such as yoga, Pilates, tai chi, athletic strength and conditioning, sports performance, and other movement practices, to help clients develop strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and body awareness.

The specific duties of a Mindful Movement specialist may include:

1. Assessing clients' physical and mental health and fitness levels

2. Developing customize programs for both mental and physical needs. Including progressions and regressions to complement your life and your goals.

3. Be a support for individuals throughout the process while creating community.

“Growth is uncomfortable and sometimes awkward. Acknowledge and embrace it. You grew out of that wierd pre-teen stage in your life... and now look at you!"
